June is here, and I’ve been busy in all the ways that make me happiest. Anyone who knows me knows that this time of year, two things take up most of my time: work and cycling. And honestly, I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Work at North Star has been buzzing. The spring market kept us moving, and the summer market is showing no signs of slowing down. With all that momentum came something I truly love helping with—new hires. Culture is extremely important to us at North Star, and bringing new people into the fold is something we take seriously. Even the most seasoned professionals need time and intention to learn the North Star Way of doing things, especially since we’re still a young company. Those first days and weeks matter. They set the tone. They shape success. And being part of that process—meeting people, hearing their stories, helping them find their place—has always been one of my favorite parts of the job.

June also brought the NJLTA Convention at the Water’s Edge Resort in Westbrook, Connecticut. As Chairperson of the New Jersey Land Title Institute, I had the pleasure of helping organize the continuing education seminars this year. One highlight was reconnecting with ALTA Board Governor David Scott from Old Republic Title. David and I serve together on the ALTA Membership Committee, and since we always seem to end up in the same conversations at ALTA events, we decided to bring that energy to NJLTA. He invited me to join him as a moderator/host for his session, which was such a fun full‑circle moment.

And then, running into former ALTA President Don Kennedy—who delivered a fantastic keynote on The Power of Advocacy—was the cherry on top. I’m so proud of the work our organizations do and the people who show up to make it all happen. On top of everything else, I was honored to be sworn in again as a Trustee of the Agency Section of our Association. North Star CEO David Rickenbach was also sworn in as our Agency Section Vice Chair for the coming year.  And I can’t wait to see what this next year brings.

With work and the convention keeping me on my toes, I’ve been leaning into my other passion—cycling—to find balance, center and a little quiet when I need it. As soon as the snow melted and the temperatures warmed up, I was back on my bike. Most days you’ll find me on the Henry Hudson Trail near home or riding with my crew from the Jersey Shore Touring Society. I even signed up for a few Bikes & Beers events at different breweries this summer. We start with 20–30 mile rides in the spring, but they get longer and faster as the season goes on, and I’m here for every mile.
